Metal stamping has several disadvantages:

The cost of designing and manufacturing molds in the early stage is high. If you're doing low-volume production, upfront tooling costs can make it expensive. The sheet metal stamping process requires two dies - one concave and one convex.

Relatively long delivery time. Designing and manufacturing molds takes more time.

A little more scrap metal. For sheet metal stamping, the metal piece must overlap the die a bit. This produces more metal scrap than other processes.
